Which community do you want to build or make stronger? Your school community? The various diverse communities within your school? The community within which your school resides? Our nation? The world? We live in an increasingly divided society, and in this election year, we can expect that the forces of division will only increase. So much of that division is sown online, where our students spend much of their time. It’s essential we provide them with tools to help them navigate all the worlds they inhabit safely and analytically. What role can school librarians play? How can the screens in our libraries become community connectors? What challenges and opportunities do they provide?
